at Valley Vets Latrobe
If your pet is unwell or injured, we’re here to help. Contact us as soon as possible so we can guide you on the next steps and provide urgent care.
When something goes wrong, it can be scary, but you’re not on your own. We’re here to help guide you through those urgent moments and get your pet the care they need as quickly as possible.
If your pet is unwell or injured, give us a call straight away. We can assess the situation, let you know what to do next, and arrange urgent care. In many cases, early action can make a huge difference to the outcome.
Some common emergencies we see include vomiting or diarrhoea that won’t settle, difficulty breathing, injuries from accidents, wounds or bleeding, sudden lethargy, seizures, collapse, or suspected poisoning. If something feels off or not quite right, it’s always better to check, no dramas if it turns out to be nothing.
Living in the Latrobe Valley, snake bites are also something to be aware of, particularly in the warmer months. Pets are naturally curious, and it doesn’t take much for an encounter to turn serious. Signs of a snake bite can include sudden weakness, wobbliness, drooling, vomiting, difficulty breathing, or collapse. In some cases, symptoms can come on quickly and become life-threatening.
Snake bites are a true emergency and require immediate veterinary care. If you suspect your pet has been bitten, keep them as calm and still as possible and contact us straight away. The sooner treatment begins, the better the chances of recovery.
We’re here to provide support, advice, and urgent care when you need it most. Once our Morwell clinic opens, we’ll also have expanded facilities to better manage emergencies and provide ongoing care if your pet needs to be monitored or hospitalised.
